1 Day workshop : Recent Trends – Sensing in Agriculture

Title: Recent Trends: Sensing in Agriculture

Abstract: Agriculture sensors from plant nutrient to hazards and disease management and its deployment

Venue: DA-IICT, Gandhinagar, India

Date: 24th June 2023

Registration Fee:Rs. 500/=

The detailed introduction:

Precision farming is the need of the time to address food security for the region, nation and world as a whole. Different sensors are the most critical and integral part of precision irrigation, nutrient-management and crop health monitoring.

In addition to precision-irrigation and nutrient-management, early disease detection is another critical area for farmers, since most farmers do not have deep know-how to effectively detect and manage them most efficiently, resulting more often either over-treatment or under-treatment or too late treatment.

Data driven decision making for improving quality and quantity of yield would most likely get best results in this multi-variable problem, where few of the variables are very hard to control if not impossible.

Expert talk “Exact Deep Learning Machines”

The expert talk “Exact Deep Learning Machines” was organized by the Department of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at Marwadi University (MU) in collaboration with IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) MEFGI and that was a great success. The expert of the talk was ARNI S R SRINIVASA RAO who is Professor and Director Laboratory for Theory and Mathematical Modeling, Department of Medicine-Division of Infectious Diseases, Medical College of Georgia, USA.

The expert talk was an excellent opportunity for participants to learn about the latest developments in the field of deep learning. Professor Rao, the renowned expert and speaker of the event, provided valuable insights into the concept of exact deep learning machines. The talk was highly interactive, with participants engaging in lively discussions and asking questions about the topics covered.

SAMPARK’23

SAMPARK is an annual event conducted by the IEEE Gujarat Section where all the student branches across Gujarat get a platform to connect, develop, explore, and grow. Our student members organize an annual event named ‘Sampark’, meaning ‘contact’ in the year beginning. They get the opportunity to showcase the IEEE activities of their student branch during the previous year and present their annual activity plan for the following year. ExCom members of the section, senior members and other professional members come to guide these bubbling volunteers and future engineers. Gujarat Section has been experimenting to achieve all these uniquely since last 16 years. It is a matter of pleasure for us and all the student branches across the IEEE Gujarat Section that SAMPARK’23 will be conducted on February 25-26, 2023. Let us all come together and make this event the most memorable and successful one!
