About the Event:

Marwadi Education Foundation Group of Institution (MEFGI) and Marwadi University organized one day Seminar on “IoT: Current Trends of Security, Data Analytics and Systems” on 18/03/2017. The seminar consists of expert lectures from academia and industry towards various sub fields and technology stack of IoT. Objective of this workshop is to provides awareness about how the Internet of Things changing everything around us.

Dr. Anil K. Roy first gives introduction about Internet of Things. He explains IoT examples like driver free car, google glass, brain controlled computing and extraterrestrial. He also explains impact of IoT on our lifestyle. He introduce the term “Kill Switch” (i.e. Hardware Engineer), Standards in IoT, what is Intelligent Transportation and how it will applicable in India, Carbon footprint (i.e. Green ICT). Then next talk after lunch was of Dr. Manik Lal Das

Dr. Maniklal Das focuses on security in IoT. He first clears the concepts of security like what is CIA (Confidentiality Integrity Availability), Cipher text, Key generation. He talked about Security issues in IoT: Challenges and Opportunities, what is cyber security. He explains all the security terms with regarding Military application, Enterprise application and University application. In the end of his session he also introduces what are layers of security solution. Then after tea break we had a talk from Dr.Amit Nanavati.

Dr. Amit Nanavati focuses on big data in IoT. He takes scenario of Hospital patient monitoring system and explain how the data should be collected and analyzed with the help of Sensor device. He also explains two anonymity requirements for action search, Challenges in device sharing, M4M model, Triangle inequality, Vertex potential and one mode search.

One Day Seminar of “IoT: Current Trends of Security, Data Analytics and System” has been very beneficial for Final and Pre final year students, now they are aware about what is IoT, need of IoT, how it relates with real world, technical point of view understanding about IoT, Security in IoT, Big data with IoT and latest research trends with IoT.
