Silver Oak University IEEE WIE AG works hard to bring a change in the society. With this perspective, our members have visited a girls hostel called JB girls hostel in Ahmedabad. This was an attempt by our Affinity Group to give something back to this society. The sole aim of the visit was to enlighten the girls and make them aware about the current scenario of the world, so that they can allow themselves to come out of the shell and become the best versions of themselves. We reached there and met Mr. Vijay Chauhan (journalist in Divya Bhaskar newspaper) and Miss Chandani Nibhnani (Runs Chandani Foundation – associated with 15 orphanages including blind, handicapped, mentally disabled, trafficking rescued orphan kids) and the girls gathered in an assembly. We interacted with them to aware about various accomplishments of women around the globe with a view to inspire them for a better future and also conversed with them about further education and what kind of opportunities are available in their foreseeable future. Chauhan also shared his views and understanding of the current world. Then we arranged snacks for the girls. Our volunteers served snacks to all the girls as well as the authorities. Our members also joined them. It was a unique and one of kind experience, getting to know about the difficulties these children face in their day to day life and doing our best to help them in any way.
